Food for Thought: Hemp For Humanity.
I’m getting ready to do a documentary on hemp. I’ve been preparing for this for a long time - preparing to actually prepare - it’s a funny thing to create. I mean, we’re constantly creating each moment - comprehending, understanding, viewing, participating, actualizing, whatever. Yet - we have ideas within these moments created, to create more - and so it goes - the world keeps spinning.
I believe in hemp - IMMENSELY - caps on immense in-case the word itself wasn’t enough.
Hemp can do everything - just about. It can’t take commands like Siri or turn your lights off like Alexa - but I believe it can fuel, sustain, and better life and this planet from a number of angles. Not only do I believe it - there is proof to it - and I’ll be explaining these findings while exploring more about the plant and all it does. I’ll get to sharing the concept of the project with you at a later time. In the mean time - these are SOME of the things you can do with hemp.
Quick note: When I’m talking Hemp I’m not talking Marijuana.
Quick breakdown for the science fair:
Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species.
Cannabis is a genus of the Cannabaceae family. Hemp is Cannabis, as is Marijuana. In fact, there are three species of Cannabis. This is why people interchange the names causing much confusion. Simply put: marijuana gets you high - hemp doesn’t.
Hemp is easier to grow and yields massive amounts at a time. It’s also one of the oldest plants on the planet. Fun fact: The word Canvas derives from the word Cannabis. Now back to the case in point - More trees; more life. Hemp is dope (no pun intended) and diverse AF - here’s your list:
Food: eat the seeds, use the seeds to make milk, add flavours and call it cream cheese also a great source of protein, magnesium, and omega acids.
Oil: can use it to make lotions, soaps, and even paint.
Fibre-Paper-Textile: you can make it into something to write on, or use it for your clothes.
Concrete/Insulation: literally concrete or insulation, for building things - like walls.
Biodegradable Plastic: will break down unlike the petroleum savagery that’s doing ridiculousness to our planet.
Bio-fuel: similar to the above statement re: savagery - it’s natural.
This has me thinking about Flax too but we’ll get to all these thoughts eventually, maybe, sometime, or not. For now, stay tuned and #spreadlovelivefree.
